In the past 10 years I have developed a passion for the majesty of birds. They are a constant reminder of the beauty that surrounds us and are an incredible example of simplicity and extremes. From the robins that we see daily, here in Connecticut, to the elusive quetzal in the jungles of my native Guatemala, birds come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. 

 

It is with that in mind that I wanted to incorporate my passion for birds into my work. Just as birds, we are all different, yet we hold in each of us something special that is uniquely ours. During a time of so much struggle and pain, this series invites you to show your feathers with pride, to love your uniqueness, and to let others see you shine. I have given titles to these paintings, but each word can apply to any feather, and of course, you are encouraged to use your own personal word to describe them.
